If your current CPO® certification is still valid but approaching expiration, this CPO recertification online option provides a flexible, efficient way to renew your credentials without attending a traditional two-day class. Designed for working pool professionals, this streamlined pathway is built around the Pool Operator Primer (POP) developed by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance—the recognized standard for Certified Pool Operator training and certification.
As part of this CPO renewal program, participants will complete an approximately 6-hour on-demand POP refresher course. This course reinforces the core principles of pool and spa operation, including water chemistry, circulation systems, filtration, sanitation, and safety protocols. The refresher is a mandatory prerequisite and must be completed prior to scheduling and taking the CPO certification exam.
Login credentials for the online POP course will be sent to the registered participant within two (2) business days of receipt of payment, allowing you to begin training quickly and complete it at your own pace.
CPO recertification online
After successfully completing the POP refresher, you will coordinate directly with Rudy to schedule your CPO® certification exam. The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions in an open-book format and is administered in accordance with PHTA certification standards, ensuring both regulatory compliance and practical, real-world knowledge.
Proof of a current, valid CPO® certification is required to enroll in this program, and eligibility is limited to individuals whose certification has not yet expired.
