I Probably get asked about my shirts more than anything else. I mean from those that see the class pictures and outside the expected swimming pool operation questions. I think its important to dress the part. I wanted something that could be considered a “work shirt”, but that whole collared thing in the way that I teach wasn’t going to work. I mean, don’t get me wrong. When I get dressed I get dressed and I do tend to GQ it up, but for my classes I’m a pool guy. I’m not a 100% PowerPoint kind of teacher. We do a ton of hands-on stuff in my Pool Operator Certification classes, so I am constantly crawling in and out of filters, conducting science experiments, navigating pump rooms, and handling water test chemicals. A suit and tie would just not do.
Though I have had a few made, the majority of the shirts I wear I have either found online or they just show up (folks send them to me). Pool Industry stuff? Not really.
