Haunted Pools : The Queen Mary

The swimming pool aboard the Queen Mary ship is one of the most haunted places in the world. Launched in 1934, this ship which has logged over 1,000 visits, is now docked in Long Beach, California, where it has been transformed into a hotel. But what of the Haunted Pools & Halloween Decorations?

Two ghosts are said to roam the deck of the pool that had been restricted to first-class passenger use. A young girl named Jackie leaves child-sized wet footprints about the deck of the pool that has been drained and dry for decades. The Lady in Black and White (self-explanatory) was also found at that same pool aboard the vessel. The second-class passenger pool has experienced no such activity.

Haunted Pools : The Edwardian Bath

Located at the Moseley Road Baths in Birmingham and built-in 1907, the Edwardian pool has seen thousands of swimmers dip in their toes to test the water. Sadly, due to the cost of repair, the pool was closed and drained in 2003.

Haunting, Yes. But haunted? Despite some mentions of their being a ghost, I could find no back story or any greater detail on the spirits who call this pool their home.

This guy has some amazing photos of this place. Click on his name in the photo credit to see more.

Haunted Pools : The Renfrew Bath

Renfew’s Victory Baths in Scotland was built in 1921 and is the most haunted location in that city. Did you watch the video above? Just behind the guard stand, going up and down the stairs. Is that the ghost of the young boy who died in a freak accident at this pool in 1933? The boy, wearing a souvenir helmet (a gift from his father) from WWl, dives off the board headfirst only to have the strap break the child’s neck. There is also a Lady in White (self-explanatory) that roams the storage areas beneath the pool. Her back story remains unknown.

Is the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, the most haunted location in the United States? Built in the late 1800s to be a vacation home for George Washington, Vanderbilt II is the largest privately-owned home in the country. Two-hundred-fifty rooms, WTF?! There is much information available on the multiple entities that haunt this goliath.

Much information is available on the multiple entities that haunt this goliath chateau, but the source of the maniacal laughter resonating from the pool’s main drain remains a mystery. The Woman’s identity in Black, who has been spotted on several occasions in the pool area, is also an unknown. Is she the source of the splashing sounds that can be heard in the empty pool?
